I have had my nest thermostat for years, in the same place, on the living room wall. There is no air coming through the wall etc. A couple days ago I noticed it said the temp inside was 63 degrees, but clearly it was a lot colder. Then it said 69, 70 and then it climbed to 71 within a few minutes??? It is 51 degrees outside and maybe 60 degrees inside. If it was 71, it would be roasting. I reset the thermostat two times by lushing and holding...that did nothing. Did a factory reset and still nothing. The ambient temp is still at 69 degrees. Maybe I just need to buy a new thermostat?!?

Hi DQJ,
Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat is reading incorrect ambient temperature. Let me take a look at this for you. A few questions:
Also on your thermostat, go to Settings > Technical Info > Network and check for the Signal strength value. The signal strength has a maximum value of 100. A signal strength of 75 is considered strong, while a value of 36 or lower is considered weak.
Keep us posted.
Best,
Zoe
