Installed a Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat several weeks ago. Old, two-wire system to a Burnham Independence boiler. Been working fine, but this week have noticed a low crackling sound from the thermostat when the heat cycles on. By low, I mean I need to put my ear pretty close to the thermostat to hear it; sounds kind of like slow static. I assume this is related to the Nest charging itself? Is this normal (I suspect not)? Is it dangerous?
Anyone else have this issue? How did you resolve it and at what cost?
Thanks.
