Nest Thermostat Gen 2 keeps resetting temperature

Alongron

I have all my features turned off of my nest like schedule, home/away assist/ eco mode, literally everything I can think of and still my nest resets its self to a higher temp when I never moved it.
It's hot here in texas and I want my house to stay at 71 degrees until I tell the thermostat otherwise or I put one of the learning features back on. is this even possible or am I going to have to get a new kind of thermostat?

Hi Alongron,

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear about this situation of your thermostat keeps changing the temperature without your request. No worries, help is here! If you already turned off all the features that might be causing this, let's try locking your thermostat in a specific range of temperature. Here you have the steps:

  1. Tap the Nest thermostat you'd like to lock.
  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap Lock.
  4. Enter a PIN that you can easily remember, and enter it again to confirm.
  5. If you're locking your thermostat in Heat mode or Cool mode, you'll need to set a temperature range. Drag the slider to set the minimum and maximum temperatures while locked. Tap Lock at the bottom of the screen when you're done.
  6. To confirm your thermostat is locked, tap Settings. You should now find the option "Unlock" instead of "Lock."

Let me know how that goes.

Regards,

Axel.

Hi Maxtor,

Thanks for replying! Sorry to hear those troubleshooting steps didn't work for you. Have you tried performing a Factory Reset on your Nest Thermostat?

Regards,

Axel.
