I have 8 nest thermostats in one home with 6 nest protects and 4 nest thermostats in this home with 4 nest protects. I have several generation 3 learning thermostats that have lost connectivity. You CANNOT get them to connect even after restarting my entire home network (modem, router, and WiFi points and resetting the thermostat). They are JUST out of warranty and Google FAILS TO HELP A LOYAL CUSTOMER!!! My advice, DO NOT USE NEST ANYMORE. I will spend $3,500 if necessary to throw away all these devices and go to a better setup! Makes me sick that the more Nest becomes Google, the worse the products and the worse the support, and the worse the help!!! Sickening to me!!!

#. I threw out the thermostat that failed. I have another thermostat on order from google. Additionally, I ordered the EcoBee Pro Premium as well. I am going to try the EcoBee first and if I can stomach it I will switch out my other thermostats to the Ecobees. Furthermore, many of my cameras will fail to work in both my houses after April of this year (I think that’s correct). I have to replace those anyway and I order my first ARLO camera to try those.

I’m going to switch my thermostats (8 in one home & 4 in this home) to a different brand of smart thermostat. I’m going to eliminate the nest protects and have my alarm system provider install smoke/CO2 protectors. Finally, I’m going to eliminate my cameras and replace them as well.
I’m just disappointed. I have been a Nest customer since the first month they started selling products. I have been a Google customer since Gmail was offered as a beta to a limited number of customers. I really expected Google to replace that 3rd gen failed thermostat. I have placed orders for over $5,000 in equipment to replace my Google/Nest devices. It’s not about the money!!!

Hi dhixson1,
I completely understand your disappointment with the situation, especially considering your longstanding history as a Nest and Google customer.
Switching to a different brand of smart thermostat and making changes to your home security setup is a significant decision, and it sounds like you've thoroughly evaluated your options. Sometimes, customer loyalty comes with certain expectations, and when those expectations aren't met, it's only natural to explore alternatives.
If you ever reconsider or if there are any developments with your current concerns, I hope it provides the reliability and support you deserve. If there's anything specific you'd like assistance with or if you have further questions, feel free to share, and I'll do my best to help.
Warm regards,
Mark
