Nest Thermostat Install Requires Pro?

We tried installing a Google nest learning thermostat upstairs on one of our dual units. However, the thermostat said to contact nest pro for installation... Does anyone know if there's a way around this? Or why this happened? Thanks

I have this same question. Why do I have to have a pro even I’ve gotten to this point?
