Nest Thermostat Mind of its Own!

My Nest thermostat has a mind of its own and changes temperature at random times.  All of the automation tools are turned off (even though I would like to use some) and the schedules have been tested on and off...nothing works.  Both when on A/C mode all summer and now on heat.  I have tried factory resets and everything else.  I am at an absolute loss and beyond annoyed being woken up in crazy heat (and in summer freezing).

please help!

Same thing is happening to me. It’s infuriating to spend money on this to become more uncomfortable, with no solution in sight.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hear you and we wanted to help you with this.

Give these steps a try:

When you turn off Auto-Schedule, your existing schedule will remain but your thermostat will stop learning from your future adjustments. 

Google Home app

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap Favourites or Devices .
3. Select your thermostat.
4. Tap Settings > Temperature preferences> Auto-Schedule. Then select the mode that you want to use: Auto, Suggestions or Off.

Nest app

1. Open the Nest app, then select your Nest thermostat.
2. Select Settings > Auto-Schedule.
3. Tap the switch to turn it off.

On your Nest Thermostat

Choose Settings > Nest Sense> Auto-Schedule> Off.

Clear your existing schedule, turn off ECO and turn off Home and Away assist.
