I'm receiving SPAM on my Nest Thermostat. How do you turn it off. I made a YouTube video demonstrating the issue. The link is below.

Oh my gosh - how freakin' awful. This is straight from the playbook of a dysfunctional Microsoft operating system (i.e. MS Windows).
Thanks for the advice - but, I decline.
I've already spent an enormous amount of time configuring this wretched device to stop turning on and off on its own. This incredibly lame thermostat would try to guess when I'm home and try to guess what temperature I wanted and to try to guess when I wanted the thermostat on or off. Reseting the thermostat will only re-introduce this problematic issue into my life again. No thanks.
I will decide WHEN the thermostat is ON and when it is OFF. Period. I don't need some idiotic software second guessing my every move - and wasting my time.
This is JUST a thermostat.
Why the flip would I waste all of my time fussing over a thermostat? I won't. I'll just have the HVAC company replace this poppycock with a REAL thermostat that has an on/off switch and a temperature setting. Done.

Hi @Pitchford_Snow,
Thanks for following up. I apologize for all the inconvenience caused. I understand how frustrating this situation can be.
To resolve this, I need to gather information from the troubleshooting steps. However, I completely understand if you prefer not to proceed.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

No thank you. I believe that'd be similar to chasing one's tail.
Nest reminds me of Segway. Do you remember those? Google it. Segway was a solution looking for a problem. Inane.
Nest has poorly written software highjacked by annoying marketing people that want to SPAM you. Instead of scouring the internet for possible solutions for hours and days - I'll replace my Nest thermostat with a traditional thermostat. Problem solved in five seconds - without the annoyance returning a month later when something changes with a software update.
There's no need to invite idiotic software written by dweebs into my life. I don't need Nest to automatically change the thermostat temperature that I want. I don't need Nest shutting off my HVAC system when I want it on. And, I certainly don't need SPAM on the wall of my own home.
Nest is a lame piece of tech. There is no need for this foolishness whatsoever.

A cursory search on just this forum turns up many users of the Nest Thermostat having exactly the same complaint that I've had - Nest temperature constantly changing. Huh - well that's just plain weird. Old school thermostats work just fine - Nest introduces continuous bugs and SPAM annoyances. That just seems completely silly. Yeah, Nest is definitely not for me. Makes zero sense.
