I have a dual zone hot air Gas Furnace with a A/C (electric) for the summer. I installed a Nest thermostat following the wiring from the previous thermostat _ Red to Red, Cyan to Cyan, Yellow to Yellow, Green to Green and a White wire in O/B. I also tried the white wire in the W spot on the Nest - In both cases when calling for heat the A/C compressor comes on, not the furnace. I need heat, any suggestions, the two thermostats are connected to a Honeywell control panel. Any suggestions??
Thanks

Hello Rgrande46,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
Incorrect wiring configuration could be the reason why it's not turning on your furnace when calling for heat. To isolate:
I'll look forward to your response.

Hi here are two photos (don't see how to attach them), one (rectangular base) is the existing honeywell 2006 thermostat base that works heating and cooling (gas furnace with a A/C unit in the flu and condenser outside) two zone system. The second photo is a wifi Honeywell thermostat that works heating and cooling. When I install the Nest, It calls for heat and turns on the furnace fann and also turns on the A/C condenser outside. I tried the Nest in both zones with the same result. I did try to call for cooling but the heat did not come on.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the photos and updates on how it goes. To be sure of your systems' compatibility, could you please tell us the make and model of your HVAC system? Also, is this a heat pump?
Best,
Mark

Hello Rgrande46,
I'm sorry for the late reply. Could you also share with us a photo of your Nest Thermostat's wiring? This is to check how you labeled it.
