Hi, we have had a nest installed for the past couple of years since our old system was broken by a repair on the boiler.

we have tried numerous times to set schedules/ use the eco mode/ away modes etc but cannot seem to get the app’ to do what we need.

we currently have a schedule set which I have adjusted not that long ago - I came home yesterday to notice that the heating was on once again outside the schedule when we hadn’t even been home.

does anyone have any advice on what’s going wrong here? I have attached a screen shot of both our history and the schedule set - the history is indicating that the schedule has asked for a random period of heating but clearly it hasn’t?

im really concerned that it continues to cost us a fortune!!!

thanks

Hello RLW22,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your thermostat not following its schedule. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Please make sure to turn off the auto-schedule in the Nest Sense settings on your actual thermostat and in the thermostat settings in the Nest app. Also, disable the Home and Away Assist to ensure that it won't randomly switch modes.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Mark

Hi RLW22,

Thanks for the update. Deleting your schedule and restarting it might help. Go to your Nest Thermostat Settings and look for Reset then choose Schedule then proceed. After that, create your schedule by copying the schedule you had before and monitor if the issue persists.

Best,
Jenelyn

Hello there,

Thanks for providing additional steps, Jenelyn.

@RLW22, have you had a chance to create a new temperature schedule? How's it going so far?

Regards,
Mark

We have done this and adjusted the lower temp to just 9 degrees to try and ensure it turned off but this is the history for the past few days.

I have re set the schedule once again…..

Hello RLW22,

Thanks for giving it another shot. A few questions: do you have a heat pump system? Are you enrolled in any energy-saving program, such as Rush Hour? Also, try checking if you have Early-On enabled in its settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Mark

Hey there,

Thanks for sharing. Have you had a chance to perform a factory reset on your thermostat? If you haven't yet, please try resetting it to default. This will clear all the programs and help your thermostat re-learn what was being set. Once done, try creating another temperature schedule and keep us posted on how it goes.

Regards,

Mark

Mark
