So the Nest app & I presume the website will no longer communicate with the thermostat models 1 & 2 later this year. <sigh>
What about Alexa? In other words, does Alexa us a Google hosted API to talk to Nest thermostat? Or does Alexa (Amazon) diretly communicate with the thermostat , not dependent on Google?
Or, can I write my own app to use the Smart Device Management (SDM) API? Or is that going away for older devices? Im looking at page:

and it says All Nest Thermostats are supported. The page was lsat updated just over 2 weeks ago on June 23, 2025
