Nest Thermostat and Google Home

Hi,

I have just set up a next 3rd gen learning thermostat. I have set it up on the nest app and the device is working perfectly fine. However, I can seem to add the device to the google home app, it’s can’t find any devices on the account.

I have used the same name for my home on both apps. And I had reset and tried from the start but still not luck. The reason why I’d like to do this is to add the Alexa nest skill.

can anyone help?

@Abu-Aaliyah

Are you logging onto both the Google Nest app and the Google Home app with the same Google Account?

When you install a Nest Learning Thermostat or a Nest Thermostat E in the Google Nest app, it is supposed to AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app as long as it's been assigned to a "room" in the Google Nest app.

However, in recent months, many customers in this forum report that is NOT happening. Many customers have solved it by doing the following:

In the Google Nest app, create a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure". Go to that empty Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete it. Apparently, this forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat then appears in the Google Home app.
