Nest Thermostat flashing lights

Hi, so this is my first Nest thermostat and I had noticed when the Lights Went Out and I had my camera on that there are these two flashing lights at the top of it I was curious what they mean or represent?

Those aren't flashing lights, they are sensors, as explained below.
