Nest Thermostat goes offline when changing temperature from the app

My gen 2 thermostat will go offline (at least as the app indicates) after adjusting temperature from the app. It will then come back online after a while, or after it detects presence or is manually adjusted. Once it comes back online it takes the temperature adjustment.

 My wifi and internet are fine and I’ve followed all other troubleshooting advice.

• What's the software version of your thermostat?
• Can your other devices find your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)?
• Do you only have one Wi-Fi network, or are there others?
• Is your Google Nest thermostat showing any error code message?
• Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) between 3 and 50 feet from the Nest devices?
