Nest Thermostat is not firing boiler

I have two Nest Thermostats and both have been behaving very strangely in recent times.

Nest Thermostat 1 :

Sporadically it will not initiate the boiler startup if the temperature falls below a certain temperature.   This had been resolved by simply rebooting the Nest Thermostat on the wall.   If I switch on the heat via the heatlink, then this will turn the heating on without issue.

I have reset everything and started again.   Since then, I have had quite a lot of "Device offline" happening on the Nest Device.    The thermostats appear to have the latest software releases and nothing has changed including Wifi.

Nest Thermostat 2 :
This suffered from the same issues but to a much lesser extent.   It is still at the stage where it is fixed by a simple reboot but this also suffers from the "Device Offline" from the recent reset - when you go to the device - it appears to work correctly.

Today I have noticed that the app is not directly connecting to the devices all the time.   I was at the heatlink turning on the heat via the app - the app showed orange but the actual nest thermostat on the wall was still showing off.

I have had this for a few years and been impressed but this is becoming increasingly more frustrating.   Having to turn the heat on manually negates the need for the thermostats and it is very annoying to either be too hot or too cold.

Any help would be appreciated!
