Nest thermostat stopped working

I have had a 3gen for a long time, it just stopped working, tried to charge just won’t take a charge, it’s dead

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat used an internal Lithium battery and like your cellphone or electric car, after a few thousand charges it begins to fail taking on a full charge.  
At a severe charging degradation point, the charging system stops trying.  This is the point when the Nest Thermostat must be replaced.

the nest thermostat has a one year warranty if the homeowner installs it and it fails within that one year. If you use a Google nest pro to install it, your warranty is automatically extended to a total of three years

Well just got a new nest looking for a installer

@Thedog72, what model of the new nest thermostat did you purchase? You might not need a nest pro installer unless you’re wanting to extend the warranty to three years.

The Google Nest thermostat is designed, following the carefully created instructions to be installed by a homeowner.
