Nest Thermostat keeps telling low batteries

I installed a Nest thermostat and it worked well for some time. Now it keeps telling me I have low batteries even though right after I put in fresh ones.  Also my C wire has power. So the batteries should not run out of juice so soon.

Could it be that I have a defective Nest thermostat?

Hi @Do1953!

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry to hear that your Nest thermostat keeps telling you low battery, but no need to worry; help is here. We appreciate all of your previous troubleshooting efforts. I need to know a few things about your thermostat in order to provide you with a better resolution.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have? For your reference, you can check out this article on how to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • What is the make and model of your HVAC equipment?
  • Do you see a blinking LED light? If so, is it red or green?
  • Do you have more than one thermostat?
  • What are the power readings in Settings, Technical Info, Power?

I'll be waiting for your response; any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,
Jeremy.
