Nest thermostat calls for heat. Cool air, no heat

I have had Nest thermostat in use for about 3 years now, and it has been working well.

The issue has been weird like this:

Day 1: around 8 PM, we felt cold and cranked up the temparature, the thermostats turned orange, called for heat, the fan turned on, but the blowing air was not warm. The following morning, I changed the air filter and tested the heating. Warm air was blowing and I figured the issue was fixed with the change of air filter.

Day 2: the same evening, I cranked the thermostat on and surprised to abserve that the air was not warm. At this time, I figured something with the furnace not working properly. The following morning, the furnace turned on and warm air was blowing.

At this time, I feel that the Nest thermostat is doing something weird. Anyone has encountered similar situation?

Hi Xeurom,

Thank you for your response.  I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not heating. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • When did heating last work?
  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • What type of furnace do you have? (gas, electric, etc.)
  • To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a photo of the wiring?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
