Nest Thermostat slow in switching to Away

My Nest E thermostat usually takes an hour or more before it switches to Away once I leave home. Is this normal? I have presence sensing turned on for my phone. It is the only phone, no pets etc and a strong wifi. 

When I return home, it switches to Home as soon as I walk in.

Just wondering if others find this to be the case. Thanks

I have the opposite problem. It constantly switches to Away after I switch my phone off or go out, and then never switches back to home, even with the Thermostat detecting movement. very annoying

sorry this doesn't help your problem though!

I've gone through all the settings and it still doesn't work. I think they have some work to do on the geo-febcing capabilities of the software

Thanks but yes I do have the opposite issue. I plan on trying Google customer service again but I haven't gotten very far with them so far. 

As you say, it may just be that their geofencing software. Good luck with yours.
