Nest Thermostat stuck on 82 degrees ambient temperature

I had a new carrier 2 stage condenser installed with variable stage air handler. The thermostat and AC system work ok between stages, however on my Nest Thermostat (2nd gen) now the room temp is stuck on 82%s. This happened when the unit was installed. The installer originally miswired the AC unit trying to have the Nest work correctly with the 2 stages and originally could only get the high capacity fan stage to work. There does not seem to be anyone that had this experience on the web but I did find that if miswired to the system the Nest Thermostat may have been perm impacted. Has anyone had this issue? I reset and restarted the system. thank you

Hello eagle3332,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's see what's going on.

To isolate:

  • How big is the difference between the readout of the Nest thermostat and your thermometer or other thermostats?
  • Is your thermostat near any heat sources?
  • On the thermostat. Go to Settings > Technical Info > Network.
    • Get the signal strength value.

Please try the steps here:

  • Tap and hold the screen for 10 seconds until it shuts down to restart.
  • Turn on Sunblack. Go to Settings > Nest Sense.
  • Cover the wall with a duct seal compound.
  • Disconnect the thermostat from your Wi-Fi network for 24 hours.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,
