Nest Thermostat time and date are wrong

MindyM
Community Member

I have a Nest Thermostat in my rented apartment. Somebody else already has it connected to an app and account...possibly the management company. The time and date are off but 12 days, 19 hours, 38 minutes. That's a problem because the schedule won't work right. The bigger problem is that there seems to be no way to set them time and date. I've read posts that say a factory reset won't fix the issue. What do I do? Also how can I control the thermostat remotely when the thermostat is connected to someone else's account?

Hello MindyM,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.

Showing incorrect date and time could be a location issue. Please make sure that the address on the app is correct. If so, try editing it and ensure that the zipcode is accurate and restart the thermostat once the change has been made.

Please let me know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark

Hi there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark
