Nest Thermostat wiring

Hi,

I am trying to replace TopTech TT-P-411 by Nest Learning Thermostat.  I have connect as follows:

Yellow in Y1

Green in G

Red in Rh (In TopTech Rc and Rh are connected)

White in W1

It is still not charging up and saying thermostat need to shut down to charge battery. We also tried charging by directly pluging in the display to a charging cable.

Any suggestions to resolve the issue please.

Hello Sudhir,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

It seems like you've made the wiring connections correctly based on your post. However, if your Nest Learning Thermostat is still not charging and indicating that the battery needs to shut down, there are a few things you can check and try:

  1. Make sure that the Nest Thermostat is compatible with your HVAC system. You can check the Nest Thermostat Compatibility article.
  2. Ensure that the Rh (or Rc) wire is providing power. You might want to check if there is a fuse on your HVAC system that needs to be replaced.
  3. If charging directly didn't work, make sure you are using a compatible and functioning charging cable. Check both the cable and the power source to ensure they are operational.
  4. Gather the power readouts in the Technical Info settings. This would help us determine the voltage level.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
