Nest Thermostat won't connect to Wifi & Home App

This happens every time power goes off. Our router and modem reboots and when we are back online, every device in the house is connected EXCEPT for our Nest Thermostat. The Home app is not able to "see" it and you need to set up the device manually in the Home App. But even then the Home app will NOT connect the Nest to Wifi, even though all other devices are on the Wifi network and working properly. What can be done about this, Google?

Hi knicksone0228,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. I'd like to know more about it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Do you notice any messages or codes for a low battery issue in your thermostat or in the app? Please gather your thermostat's power reading and share it with us.

Check out this guide:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
