Nest Thermostat

I have installed my Nest Thermostat. I have the Nest App and Google Home app. When I tap on the thermostat is says Continue adding in Google Home app. 

So i tried that and got almost through then its says cannot find device! I need to get to the quickview screen so I can connect to our wifi but don't find it anywhere.

Also why doesn't Google Home find the thermostat? Likely a wi-fi issue as we haven't been able to connect it yet.
