Nest Thermostat

Hello!

I installed a Nest Learning Thermostat approx 6 years ago, and have used the app to control the thermostat when I'm not home.  For some reason, when I opened the app today, it required me to log in.  I tried using the login I used last fall, but it won't work.  When I click on "Forgot Password" I enter the email address and I never get the email.  In support, they suggest that my account may have been mitigated, but I've tried using all four (4), of my gmail accounts and none work.  I've tried to add a new device using the app, but it wants me to go to the device and get a "key" to enter.  When I follow the instructions and try to do it, the device says that it's already tied to an account.  I just keep going around in circles.  I've been trying everything using "support" for the last 3 hours.  Can anyone offer any suggestions?  I want to be able to control the house temperature from my phone because I travel quite a bit. Thank you so much!

Hi Leanne2150,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties logging into your Nest account and accessing your thermostat through the app. Sometimes, automated emails like password reset emails can end up in the spam or junk folder of your email account. Double-check these folders to ensure that the email from Nest hasn't been misclassified as spam. If you're unable to regain access to your account through support channels, you may consider performing a factory reset on your Nest Thermostat. However, please note that this will erase all settings and configurations, and you will need to set up the thermostat as if it were a new device. Use this option as a last resort and consult Nest support for guidance before proceeding.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
