Nest Thermostat

How do I log in to my Nest thermostat via Windows. In the days when Google provided HUMAN support I got it working (about 18 months ago) but now I cannot remember how to log in. I am using the same Google account. I have tried the app on Android but that is requesting an entry key which my thermostat does not have.

My nest shows the following info under "Settings":

Software: 5.9.4-5 (up to date)

Technical info (Base): S/W 1.0.2.6/3.1   Backplate 3.2   Ser No: D3BA01AC441402WG

I now appear to have been totallly abandoned by Google.
