Nest app issues

My Nest thermostats are connected and working on my Google Home app, but for some reason, my NEST app doesn’t let me load or activate the devices. Almost like I’m forced to use the Google Home app. Anyone dealing with this as well?

The Nest Learning Thermostat can only be installed on the Google Nest app, so at some point it (they) must have been working on the Google Nest app if they are working in the Google Home app.  Once installed on the Google Nest app, a Nest Learning Thermostat should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app as well, provided you're logging into both with the same Google (gmail) account and are connecting to the same Google Nest "home/community" in both apps.

I'm having the same issue. Had Google home previously installed on my phone and when using the Nest app it tells me to download Google home and then takes me to Google home. It's this loop I can't seem get out of, it never takes me back to the Nest app.

Yeah, I can empathize. Its pretty frustrating. What's even more bizarre is that the NEST app and Google Home works perfectly on my wife's phone/account, but I can't seem to integrate the two apps. For all of Google's glory.......it just can't stick the landing.

@Jessicaj and dslatus, thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Also, are you using the same email address with the Google Home app and the Nest App?

It's just the regular Nest (not the learning or the 3rd gen) and yes using the same email address for both.

I have the 3rd Gen learning thermostats and I do use the same email (Google Sign In) for both apps.
