Nest blank display

My new nest will not turn on at all. It kicks on my furnace but the display has never turned on. I've made sure there are no obstructions on the battery terminals and used 3 pairs of batteries.

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let me take a look at this for you. 

A few questions: What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Is this the one with a mirror display? Is this a newly installed Nest Thermostat? When did the issue first occur? Are the power breakers on, and do you receive power to your home? Is the thermostat's display seated properly? And are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
