Nest Thermostat Stopped working

So 2 days ago I noticed my best gen 3 thermostat had a black screen. 

So I pressed a couple of times. Nothing.

I then noticed a red blinking led. Did a bit of research and it points to a power issue… 

ao following online advice and troubleshooting I removed from base plate and changed manually… 

The nest then boots up and says date and time needs sorting… 20 seconds later it says it shutting down and needs power/ charging. Despite me charging it for 24 hours directly in the port with a micro usb cable. 

I have done this several times and still says it needs power and shuts down. 

I have checked my wiring and all is well and as it always has been.  

I have had this installed for 5 months with zero issues and all of a sudden it’s knackered.


I’m very technology and smart home literate so I really believe this is a faulty item… after doing my research this seems to be a common issue.  

Not what I expect from a 9 month old device that I paid £180 for. 

Who do I speak to regarding this issue and possibly acquiring a replacement.
