Hello all,
I have a nest thermostat where by the display is always blank or black, when attempting to adjust the temperature or rotate the dial I can hear the audible noise as if it’s working. If I then check the app I can see the temperature has adjusted, and I can adjust the temperature up and down with the app also, I can also manually turn on the heatlink.
we managed to get the display unit to reset to default but now there is nothing on the display.
The system seems to be working but the display seems to have failed.
any suggestions welcomed at this point

Thanks for sharing the information here @Hydey100 . I'm sorry to hear you're facing difficulties with your device and I'll do my best to try and assist.
What I would recommend, in case you have not tried this already, is to take the display off the base and squeeze it in your hands for about 10 seconds. This should make it restart, turn off and turn back on again. See if after it has any change in the behaviour and let me know.

@thanks for responding, I have attempted this twice now and the same behaviour afterwards. I suspect the backlight or screen within the thermostat has failed

It is certainly possible. If you can control it from the Nest app though that is good to hear for now. I'd like to create a case on our end here so I can check and collect some details. Would it be ok if I reached out over the email associated with your account here?

No worries, I'll find it for you. So, just to confirm, the display is not dead, is just blank, and you can still change the temperature from it, right?

Yes, I can hear and audible sound from my device and if I then check the app the temp setting has risen however I have no other control function from the unit, I can still use the app to adjust the heating and hot water, and all other settings and info,

There is one thing we can still try. Press on the display for about 15 seconds then release it and let me know if after a couple of minutes the display is back on or not.

Got it, in this case, I'll need to check in with our Seniors about this issue and once I have any updates from them, I'll let you know.

I checked the warranty of the product and it seems that it expired in August, meaning that me or my Seniors won't be able to replace the display. I'm really sorry for the resolution provided. In the meantime, I recommend acquiring a new unit from the official Google store or from an authorized retailer. Please let me know if there's anything else me or my colleagues can do for you.

Yes , thank you for the help. I have seen the reply which is disappointing as I have had several issues with this product since purchasing, so I would be reluctant to replace this unit with another google nest system again.
