Problem with the power connector

I have a Goodman furnace and recently installed a Nest Thermostat.  I have been getting messages that the thermostat is not receiving power (error message E298, an email from Google, "no power" messages on my cell phone).  The thermostat and power connector were installed by a licensed electrician.  I alerted the electrician to the problem and they came back to fix it They indicated that there was no problem with the installation, therefore the problem is with the power connector.  What should I do?

I have the same exact problem. Just installed Goodman unit and now there is a power issue. I purchased a power cable from Amazon but not exactly what to do without breaking anything.

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your Nest Thermostat installation. Since the electrician has confirmed that the installation is not the issue, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the power connector and address the "no power" problem:

  1. Ensure that all wiring connections between the power connector, thermostat, and furnace are secure. Sometimes, a loose connection can lead to power issues. Make sure the wires are properly inserted and tightened.
  2. If you have a multimeter, you can test the voltage at the power connector to verify if it is receiving power. This can help identify whether the issue lies with the power supply.
  3. Verify that the power source supplying the Nest Thermostat is functioning correctly.
    1. Check the circuit breaker to ensure it hasn't tripped and that power is reaching the thermostat.
  4. Check for any thermostat software updates.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark
