Nest ignoring schedule

NB1

Recently I changed my cooling schedule. The Nest has ignored the new schedule and stayed with the learning schedule (which I had turned off). It goes to 72 degrees at the same time every afternoon. I have done a factory reset and uninstalled the app. After restarting everything, it’s still having the same issue.

I see. Based on the information you have provided, here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:

  1. Make sure that Auto-Schedule is turned off. You can do this by following these steps:
    • Open the Google Home app.
    • Tap on the thermostat you are having trouble with.
    • Tap on Settings > Temperature preferences > Auto-Schedule.
    • Select Off.
  2. Try creating a new schedule. To do this, follow these steps:
    • Open the Google Home app.
    • Tap on the thermostat you are having trouble with.
    • Tap on Settings > Temperature preferences > Schedule.
    • Tap on the + button to create a new schedule.
    • Enter the desired start and end times, as well as the desired temperature for each time period.
  3. Try restarting your thermostat. To do this, follow these steps:
    • Press and hold the Nest button for 10 seconds.
    • The thermostat will restart.
  4. If you are still having trouble, contact Google Nest support for help.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • Make sure that your thermostat is connected to the internet.
  • Make sure that there are no power outages or other interruptions that could be affecting the thermostat.
  • If you have recently made any changes to your home's heating or cooling system, this could also be affecting the thermostat's schedule.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi folks,

@NB1, thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I want to check if you are still in need of any help. If so, to fix this, what we should do is to completely disable the learning features on your Nest Thermostat so that these learning features on the will no longer override the temperatures you set for it.

Follow these steps:

  • Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  • Select Settings.
  • Turn the ring and select Eco.
  • Turn off both the Eco Temperature.
  • Select Done.
  • Turn the ring and select Nest Sense.
  • Select Auto Schedule.
  • Select Off.
  • Select Done.
  • Turn the ring and select Home/Away Assist.
  • Select Done.
  • Turn the ring and select Reset.
  • Select Auto Schedule.
  • Select confirm Reset.
  • Turn the ring to reset schedule.
  • Click OK.

After that, you may proceed by following the steps on how to create a new schedule as shared by MsDrasby. Also, have a look at this guide to disable learning for the temperature schedule.

Let us know how that works.

I appreciate your input, @MsDrasby

Best,

Zoe
