Nest is dangerous for pets

I am posting this because Google appears to disable comments on anything related to pet safety. As a pet owner I've had to mess with settings on multiple occasions to get my nest thermostat to work properly as it will default itself to eco settings after updates or without any apparent rhyme reason.  As a result my poor golden retriever has sat in temperatures in the mid 80s for periods when we are not home. I am pretty good with technology and Google makes this way too complicated my experience is basically feeling like this thing has a mind of its own and you're really not in control of your own device.

You can edit your eco preset to, I believe, as low as 75f for the cool setting.

This is helpful, I appreciate your response.  I tend to adjust my temperature through the Google home app, but now I am thinking I will use the nest app more as that is where the eco settings are. My main concern is that the nest app defaults itself whenever I maybe don't use it as much vs Google home.  This happens to me after what feels like maybe just weeks when I remove the eco settings.  I will will keep a timestamp this time around and report back to let you know how long it takes for the app to reset my settings back to eco.  I'm hoping this data is helpful to give all nest owners a rough time frame for how often they should go back and check their settings
