This happened during the winter also but a little different. I have my red wire connected to Rh and the thermostat suddenly says it doesn’t have power. The AC is running constantly and won’t shut off. During the winter, the problem was that my heat wouldn’t turn on. Nest sent me a new thermostat because I was able to swap another nest from another room to get things to work fine. This led us to believe the thermostat was the issue and I believe it was. I had my power running from Rc back then and swapped it to Rh and didn’t have any problems since. It’s now about 5 months later and I’m having a similar issue. I don’t know if this is a nest issue or something is weird in my AC or Heating? Nothing has been changed or moved the entire time I’ve lived here which is 18 months.

Does it have a C wire installed?
Does it have multiple red wires?

Hey R6pilot,
I'd like to jump in here and check if you've seen Patrick_Caezza's response. Let us know if you need more help by replying to this thread.
Thanks,

It’s got one red. Over the winter it was connected to RC and I had the same issue with not enough power and it shut down and it wouldn’t come back with everything I did. Nest warranteed it because I swapped it with another nest from another room and it worked fine. The new nest didn’t work either but I got creative and swapped the RC wire to Rh and hadn’t had a problem until last week. I switched it back to RC and haven’t had a problem since. I don’t know why swapping these wires has done anything? I have two other zones and have never had an issue with those nests.

Hi R6pilot,
It looks like you figured this out with a bit of experimenting, but as it's been a while, I wanted to check in and see if everything continued to work from this point. If you've had any other issues, just let me know.
Thanks,
Jeff

I haven’t had an issue since. I have no reason for why it worked and then a few months later didn’t work anymore? It was strange. It’s back to the original and those two times are the only hiccups in about 20 months.

Hi R6pilot,
Thanks for the update and I'm happy to hear that it's still looking consistent. I think it's safe to mark this as resolved, but before I do, is there anything else you might need?
Thanks,
Jeff

I wish I knew the cause because it’s bound to happen again?
