I was gifted my nest thermostat for my new home in October of 2019. It no longer works. I replaced it with a cheap store bought thermostat and my ac is working again. The nest won't hold a charge it keeps throwing error codes, won't connect to wifi. It's basically a very expensive paperweight and a potential liability in this insane heat. I've read many reviews with a similar time frame of use and I find it suspicious and unprofessional that Google isn't doing anything to rectify the issue, when it is obviously a defective product.

Hello Vetg84,
We deeply appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences, and we'll take it as feedback. But I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
Power-related issues are one of the main reasons why the thermostat won't hold its charge, so it disabled some of its smart features in order to save the battery. Could you provide more details about what happened? What's the message code you're getting? Also, could you provide a rundown of all the steps you've tried?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark
