Heard my furnace cycling on and off every few seconds. Found my Nest Learning Thermostat display no longer functioning and there was only a blinking green light. Of course this happens at 4am when it's 10 below.
Went through the reboot, reset process multiple times. Removed the thermostat and charged it remotely, putting it back on the base when given a "place device back on base" indication on the display. Display retuned momentarily, but did not stay on and could not be activated by hand. Furnace returned to very quick cycling.
After another charging attempt, I am stuck with only the blinking green light.
Any recommendations? Is this a flawed product? FWIW, purchased 7/2022

Hello mspen680,
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. It appears that your thermostat is not holding a charge, which causes it to not turn on and drain its battery.
To isolate: could you share a photo of your thermostat's wiring with us? Are you getting any message codes or wiring reports? Also, please gather the power readouts from its settings under the technical info.
I'll look forward to your response.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark,
Thank you for taking the time to reply . Mt best attempt at answering your questions:
I have attached a picture of the wiring connected to the Honeywell thermostat. Hopefully you can get a feel for what's involved.
There are 4 wires, Red, Green, White and Blue. The Blue wire was attached to the Yellow thermostat connection point on both the Honeywell and Nest Thermostats. On the Honeywell thermostat there is a jumper between 2 RED connection points. This was not the case for the Nest thermostat.
Are you getting any message codes or wiring reports? - There was/is no display. Just the blinking LED. I assume this info requires the display to be working? The display did briefly operate after 1st time I remotely charged the thermostat, at that time, only the temp setting came up, when I tried going into settings, the "Blinking LED Only" mode returned. After a 2nd attempt at charging the thermostat (for a longer period of time), the only functionality was the blinking LED.
Please gather the power readouts from its settings under the technical info - Not quite sure how I'd do this without display functionality, I do not think I have access.
Hopefully this helps.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or actions you want me to take.
