Nest not adhering to schedule

Natalie_vdm

Hello, I’ve seen similar older posts but yet to see a resolution…. My Nest completely ignores the schedule I have set and so, the heating comes on at all times of day and night whether I’m home or away, completely randomly. I wake up roasting in bed and have got to the point where I’ve had to switch heating off entirely. I have auto schedule, eco and learning switched off and have tried resetting to no avail. The history tab shows it’s switching itself on because of the weather and it’s constantly overriding my schedule and I don’t know how to stop it.

Hi Natalie_vdm,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Nest Thermostat not following the schedule you've set. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Double-check your schedule settings in the Nest app or on the thermostat itself. Ensure that the temperature and timing settings are configured correctly according to your preferences. Make sure there are no conflicting entries or unintended adjustments.
  2. Ensure that there are no other settings or features enabled that may be overriding your schedule. For example, check if there are any "Home/Away Assist" or "Nest Sense" features enabled that may be influencing the thermostat's behavior. Disable these features temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.
  3. Make sure that your Nest Thermostat is running on the latest software version. Software updates can often address bugs or glitches that may be affecting the thermostat's performance. Check for updates in the Nest app or on the Nest website, and install any available updates.
  4. If the issue persists, you can try performing a factory reset on your Nest Thermostat. Keep in mind that this will erase all settings and configurations, so you'll need to set it up again from scratch. To perform a factory reset, go to the thermostat's settings menu and look for the reset option. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
