Nest not compatible with WPA3 and no signs it ever will be

Got a new Router. WPA3 capable. Switched to WPA3. All my tech happy with that apart from the Nest thermostat which then rejected the WIFI. Went back to WPA2, Nest happy again but all my other tech were not. I now have the choice of WIFI for my laptop or WIFI for my thermostat. I apparently can't have both. Google, you would think, would be ahead of and not behind the times with Security. I would like to think a WPA3 software update (if it is possible) is soon incoming or at the very least a version of Nest thermostat that is compatible is about to appear on the market. Google Nest thermostat online help/chat have no information on this and initially tell you it is compatible before sending you a link to an article that says "It's recommended to use WPA2 encryption on your router when using Nest products." How very sly. Why can't Google just say "It is not compatible with WPA3 encryption"? What's the plan here?
