Nest not compatible

junoh2

I tried to replace my old thermostat with Nest. While checking the wires in my old thermostat, the app tells me mine is incompatible. It may be because mine has two zones with cables - W, Y, G, Rh, Rc, O. I hope someone can help if there is any way that I can install Nest.

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring?

Which Nest Thermostat do you have?

Do you have multiple thermostats installed? Is there a zone controller installed?

Yes, I have a zone controller. One upsiar is  only to control upstair airflow. When the main one is off, the upstair one stops. I tried to insert an image, but I could not. Instead, I will describe as much as I could. The main thermostat has W, RH, B, O,  W, G, and Rc from the top to the clockwise. All except Rc were connected by wires from the wall.  In addition, a wire connects between Rc and Rh. The wire O looks like ground although I am not sure. Thank you.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the help here, @Patrick_Caezza.

@junoh2, If your current thermostat has jumper wires, do not connect them to your Nest Thermostat, as it doesn't require them. It's hard to tell how your thermostat is being labeled, but to be sure, do you have a heat pump system?

Mark

Hello junoh2,

If you don't have a heat pump system, leave it disconnected. Also, make sure to insert the wires into their appropriate terminals, including the B wire into the C terminal on the Nest Thermostat.

Please keep us posted on how the installation goes.

Regards,

Mark
