Nest not connecting to wifi

My nest was working fine until I replaced my modem. When I tried to reset it, it found my new modem but when I enter the new password, and it try connect, it  fails to connect. It let me re-enter the password once but again it failed to connect. Now it won't let anything because when I select the modem name from the top of the list it  immediately tries to connect but fails. I had no problem connecting my phone and other devices to the new modem so I know the password is correct.

Hi @lpknepler

Changing the WiFi is not very easy to do without issues most of the time.
You got 3 options:

  • Change your current WiFi settings to match the earlier one (same SSID name and password).
  • While both WiFi's are active change the WiFi by using the Google Home App
  • Reset your Thermostat, remove it from the Google Home App, and set up the device again in the Google Home App.

Hi folks,

Chiming in. I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for suggesting some steps, @RXShorty.

@lpknepler, how's your thermostat? Did those steps work? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Please let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark
