Hello Shweta21,

Thank you so much for posting. I understand that the Heat Link of your Nest Thermostat is showing as connected, but it is not heating up or turning on the boiler. No worries; I’m here to assist you.

In order to gather further details and determine the optimal resolution, could you please help me out by answering some questions?

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have? To identify the model, refer to this article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • Is there any LED on the Heat Link?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • Have you had any recent power cuts in your area?
  • Have you recently had service or maintenance on your electrical or heating system?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps so far? If so, could you describe them?
  • Could you confirm if the manual mode can be activated from the Heat Link or the boiler itself?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hey Shweta21,

Thanks for keeping me updated. In order to provide you with more information, please perform a factory reset. For guided steps, refer to this article: How to restart Heat Link or reset it to factory defaults. After that, set up the device again and let me know what the color and status of the LED light will be or if the Heat Link can be reconnected.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel

Thanks Daniel for taking time.

i have done reset and factory reset and nest connect with Heatlink properly without error code, Heatlink showing green light, but still it’s not triggering boiler.

Regards,

Shweta

Hey Shweta21,

Thanks for getting back to me and sharing this information. To continue addressing the issue, please follow the next steps:

  • Test Heat Link activation with the Nest app. To do this step, you need to be near the Heat Link with the Nest app and verify if it activates. On the Nest app, request heat or hot water and check for a click from the Heat Link.
  • If nothing happens, please press the middle button on the Heat Link and notice if you can hear a click and if it requests heating.

Keep me in the loop to provide further assistance.

Regards,

Daniel

Thanks Daniel. I have submitted form. Looking for guidance. Thanks for help !!

Hi Daniel or Vicente... I don't realize on how to use this page to ask for my issue, but it seems to be similar to this one.

I have an European 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat with HeatLink. On early July the device forced a software update, and after that, it stopped heating. Actually what happens is that the screen never gets orange, as it used to be showed when the thermostat sends signal to HeatLink to start heating. It is in Heat mode, and Heat Link works well, because in manual mode it turns boiler on. But it seems that the thermostat is not sending any signal to Heat Link.

I have already restarted the device, and I also made "factory default reset". Nothing gets solved. My boiler is working well, because with another OpenTherm Thermostat I have, everything works as it should.

Please help me with this. The device broke itself, and I didn't have the option to avoid that software update. So, I'ts like Google broke MY device without even asking me if they could do that. Terrible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi dariocugat,

Thanks for reaching out to this forum. I understand you’re experiencing trouble with your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen because after the update, it stopped heating. No worries; I would be more than pleased to help.

I appreciate your time and effort in completing the troubleshooting steps outlined in the post. To continue addressing the issue, could you provide me with the following information?

  • What’s the color of the LED light on the Heat Link and its status?

  • Do you see an error code or notification on the device?

I'll be looking forward to hearing back.

Regards,

Daniel
