Hello there. I have had my nest third gen thermostat for a few years now and it worked well except for the WIFI getting disconnected and the battery would die. The reason was I needed a C wire installed. That was to complicated unless I totally relocated the thermostat to another room which I didn't want to do so i got used to randomly just charging the thermostat separately by plugging it in an electrical wall outlet. . Now that i bought the Nest power connector I thought those low battery issues and no WIFI would be gone. I connected it all as per instructions and the device is now on the Wi-Fi and charging. The issue is when it calls for heat my heat doesn't go on. I have a two wire red and white and nothing more. easiest system out there. Can it be that I need a jumper or this third gen just needs to be replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did you wire the Google Nest Power Connector?
Did you use an external 24vac transformer? If there isn't a C terminal, you will also need the external transformer.
This is the recommended wiring for a two-wire heat-only system with no C wire.

In the install video there is nothing that says I need a transformer. If that is the case it is a useless product. Out of curiosity what is the part number of a transformer that will work? I'm thinking I might just go back to the old way with the basic thermostats that work with none of these requirements that just cost money.
