Nest reset!!?

I started setting up a nest thermostat that I used previously at a different home. When it came time to connect (Bluetooth to the device it was not found and the screen said I may need to reset my thermostat.  I did this once before in the past and yes a reset was the solution to advancing with the set up. The problem is, this time the thermostat is stuck on the “continue set up with the home app screen”. I’ve tried removing the batteries and when put them back in they return to the continue set up screen. Tapping on the side does not bring up the main control panel so I can’t get to the reset menu. Any suggestions?  Thank you in advance
