Nest says it will heat in 1.5 hours and does not respond to increasing the changing the temp.

Nest is set to have turned on an hour ago and heat to 67. The nest says the temp is 61. The heat is not running but it says it will reach 67 in 1.5 hours. It does not respond and start the furnace when I turn up the temp to 70 or 75. We have owned it for three years without a problem. It has recently done this every day. Never fully heating ( always delaying it for .5-1.5 hours), and not allowing us to manually adjust the temp (and heat NOW). Feels like its a new update problem (but I do see that a lot of people had the same issue in 2022 but with no resolution other than wipe it and start over). I already sent a message to the help link I found on another similar message.

Hi Ruraldave,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Nest Thermostat not responding correctly and delaying heating. Here's what you can do:

  1. Try restarting your Nest Thermostat by going to Settings > Reset >Restart. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches or software issues.
  2. Ensure that the wiring connections between your thermostat and HVAC system are secure and properly seated. Make sure there are no loose or damaged wires that could be causing communication problems.
  3. Double-check the settings on your Nest Thermostat to ensure they are configured correctly. Verify that the desired temperature and schedule are set accurately and that there are no conflicting or unusual settings that could be causing the issue.
  4. If the issue persists, you may try performing a factory reset on the thermostat. Go to Settings > Reset > All Settings. This will reset all settings and configurations to the default state. However, keep in mind that a factory reset will erase all personalized settings, so you will need to set up your thermostat again from scratch.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
