Nest sets ac to 68 every morning

Hello, I recently bought a house that came with a Nest. I factory reset it and it’s been working good.

However, every morning, it sets the AC to 68. I’m not sure why this is happening.

I cleared out all cool, heat, and cool/heat schedules. I turned off auto schedule and home/away assist as well. But it still continues.

Im not sure what else to do besides manually turning it off each morning which is annoying. Any suggestions?

Hi, @Templeowls,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I’m truly sorry the thermostat sets the AC to 68 degrees every morning. I’m happy to help!

I appreciate you letting me know you already disabled the auto schedule and the Home/Away. To provide you further troubleshooting steps, please provide the following information:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?
  • When did the problem start?
  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Are there any error messages?
  • Would you mind sharing a picture of your wiring configuration?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Does the issue happen on heating only, cooling only, or both?
  • Is this the first time you're activating heating or cooling since the season changed?

In the meantime, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Check on the Nest app for any lingering settings. Even though you've disabled auto-schedule and Home/Away Assist, there might be other hidden automation or routines affecting your thermostat. Refer to this article for instructions: How to change your thermostat's temperature schedule.
  • Check the Google Home app routines. Ensure no Google Assistant routines are interfering with your thermostat settings. Check out this article: Change Home & Away Routines settings.
  • Also, the temperature might be changing on its own because of a Nest Renew subscription or you are enrolled in the Rush Hour program. Please check this information by selecting the links.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
