Replaced Nest thermostat and it is short cycling A/C. Put G and Y1 wires together and a/c compressor operated properly.

Is a C wire installed? Short cycling can be caused by a missing C wire.

Hey folks,

Thanks again for lending a hand here, Patrick_Caezza.

Srmays, chiming in to ensure you've seen Patrick's response above. Should you still need our help, please provide at least a clear photo of your original thermostat wires and your current Nest thermostat's so we could take a look.

Best,
