Nest thermostat E UK won't connect to app

Recently purchased a UK Nest thermostat E and had trouble from the word go. Straight out the box the dial display on the stand wouldn't do a thing when plugged into the wall, had to remove from stand, boot it via a usb cable. Finally get some life into the screen and says system needs restoring to factory. However now all I get is the download the app icon, I already have the app with another thermostat downstairs but when I try to add it comes up with a fault screen and won't go away, I don't know where to go from here. Can anyone help. Thankyou

Thanks for reaching out and thanks for letting me know of this. Could you tell me please what do you see on the thermostat display? Does it have any power? We'll need to perform a few troubleshooting steps on it.

Hi there all. Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. No worries, we'll sort this out. 

 

Could you tell me please what were the steps in factory resetting the thermostat? For the Nest Thermostat E, the factory reset of the display will need to be done trough tap-tap-tap-hold down until you can see a circling arrow. Please let me know how it went. Also, please try to uninstall and reinstall the Nest pp before doing that,

This has happened to me
