Nest thermostat and Alexa

Why is it not possible to control Nest thermostat from Alexa anymore. It used to be fine till Google bought Nest and now I may as well talk to the wallpaper. Ive tried everything so if there isn’t a solution I’ll have to get rid of the thermostat
