Hi
I have a Baxi 830 combi boiler (not the plus version) and an Honeywell T6R smart thermostat. It is set up on switched live connection with no problems, but now I would like to use the Opentherm setup. I have wired Opentherm connections and disconnected the switched live connection. The boiler works fine for a time, but found that after some time the boiler just sits there and doesn't respond to the thermostat and room goes cold. The only way to make it respond is to switch off and on the mains to the boiler. Then it works again for a short while.
I contacted both Baxi and Honeywell. Baxi told me they can't help me due to me using a 3rd party thermostat, and Honeywell told me the T6R is not compatible on Opentherm with my boiler.
So what I would like to know please, has anyone had any success with Nest learning thermostat and Baxi 830 combi working with Opentherm. If so I will invest in a Nest thermostat and sell the Honneywell T6R.
Cheers
Steve
