I have had my next for 6-8 months and worked fine except now the battery has discharged twice in one week and I had to recharge, I had an A/c tech come to house and check wiring all seemed fine to him and unit currently working but don't want to continue failing every 3-5 days. Any suggestions.
also recently my wifi connection failed and cannot reconnect, all other wifi devices in house work fine.
is this unit failing? will google replace? I bought it at Lowe's.

Hi jerryKassab,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Also, do you have a C wire?
Please gather your thermostat's power reading, and share it with us.
You can follow the guide below:

I have a nest learning thermostat and power readings are as follows:
Battery 3.828 V
Voc 37.18 V
VIN 37.18 V
lin 200mA (c)
in addition to this power problem the nest will not connect to my wifi network, I have tried many times. this thermostat has worked fine since July 2023 until recently.

Hello there,
I'm chiming in to see how I can help.
I appreciate you looking into this, Jenelyn.
@jerryKassab, thanks for checking that out. Could you also check for any possible wiring reports or message codes in its settings? Also, how long has it been disconnected from the Wi-Fi network? Please disconnect the thermostat from the network for 24 hours. Go to the Reset settings, and select Account Connection. This will stop the thermostat from trying to reconnect, which drains its battery.
Keep us posted.
Best regards,
Mark

thank you, the Wifi has not worked since October or so, the battery discharge is only recent.
I did disconnect from WIFI as you suggested and will see what happens.
I think since these two problems are within warranty period and are significant, plus I need a thermostat as I live in Florida and this unit is upstairs which gets warm even in mild weather, that Google should replace this unit. I don't feel I should have to go out and replace on my own as this unit was purchased to replace another google nest that went out after two years which is beyond the warranty period.
I have $400 invested in two units that are not working properly. Needless to say I will not buy another Nest without some satisfaction on this issue.

Hello jerryKassab,
I completely understand your frustration, and I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with your Nest Thermostats. Taking the steps to disconnect from Wi-Fi is a good initial troubleshooting measure. If the issues persist, please check for any possible message codes or reports in the Network and Equipment settings. This would help us identify a potential network issue.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Mark
