Hello,
i have a Nest thermostat and was wondering if it is possible to use the function presence sensing of the display as an alarm trigger for your home. Now if walking by, the display ligths up, and this works good.
If you can use this this function to message or email you when happens, then you have a perfect alarm system.
Of course with on /off setting for leaving the home or not.
Is this possible?

Hi VdPJ,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum. The Nest Thermostat's display presence sensing feature is primarily designed to activate the display when it detects movement nearby. It is not intended to function as a dedicated alarm trigger or notification system for your home. Learn more About presence sensing and how to manage your data here in this article.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Zoe
